As a soloist, Julia Heinen has performed hundreds of concertos and recitals around the world including recent performances in El Salvador, the Czech Republic and Portugal. She has had the distinct pleasure of premiering and recording several works written specifically for her and currently is recording a CD featuring 6 works new works scheduled to be released in 2011 on the Parma Label.
She is professor of clarinet at California State University, Northridge, serves as the state chair of the ICA and will co-host the 2011 ClarinetFest. She has degrees from University of Michigan, Northwestern University and University of Minnesota. Teachers include John Anderson, Herbert Blayman, Robert Marcellus, Timothy Paradise and Cloyde Williams.
